Kick Ass fight scene

This is a memorable fight scene from kick ass which is rated 15 and targeted to a similar age group as we intend to target. This fight scene is successful  in my opinion as the shots of physical violence are very quick and do not dwell on the detail we get low angle shots of the men punching down this creates the illusion that we are seeing it from the victims point of view and makes them seem powerful and intimidating with out exposing too much detail with the pain infliction and injury. There is also fast paced high techno music played in the background creating adrenalin for the scene. There is also strong language used once or twice conforming to the stereotypical 15 rating.

Strong language may be used.
Nudity has no constraints in an educational or non sexual way,may be some nudity in sexual context as long as there is not too much detail.

this is a rating that me and Eleanor are intending hve for our film as it allows us to include a wider variety choices such us strong language, and sexual references that are focused more than a 12 rating. However we are not intending to include dangerous behaviour drug use or threats.

Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging - Trailer

this is the trailer of successful teen film that was released in 2008,I watched it twice and found it very entertaining for it's target audience which is early teens as the rating is PG13. There is an unknown narrator narrating in this trailer which was common in the early 200's ,how ever has been outdated by now. What I do like is the introduction of this trailer there is upbeat pop music playing as non diegetic back ground music to create a light hearted theme. And there Ironic comedy in this trailer the scenes are sectioned according to the headings that come up. For example "How to make an entrance" and then there is a quick shot of a scene of the main character turning up to a party dressed as an Olive looking ridiculous. This use of sarcasm in the trailer connotes comedy genre, as we view our protagonist as dorky and unlucky. There is also an enigma that is proposed to the audience where her father mentions moving to "New Zealand" and our protagonist "states she does not want to move and leave her friends and the boy she likes" this triggers curiosity in the audience and intrigues them to watch the movie to find out if she does or does not move. This influences me to create an enigma in our film trailer. The headings and film title in this trailer are also in bright pink bold ink this use of text type targets a female audience more specifically as the colours pink and purple are stereotypically associated with femininity. These might be some colour me and Eleanor might use if we choose to make our target audience more specific.

STORYBOARDING - the first 30 seconds

Brainstorming ideas for Trailer

A Coming-Of-Age teen movie..
To accomplish a successfully produced coming of age trailer is a very complex thing to do. It will either turn out horrifically terrible, or with the least possibility, a special piece of work. However, we do aim to achieve the "special piece of work" instead.

The whole basis of our movie trailer will explore the idea of a 17 year old girl experiencing the usual issues of growing up.

- This is just a brief idea however this may change to an extent over the next few weeks -

The rough idea looks into the protagonist, (Lola) played by "Luiza Paulielo" who plays the unusual outcast kid, meanwhile her bestfriend is the cool rebellious one who tries to get Lola out of her comfort zone (Sam) "Eleanor Smith". The love interest (Ricky) is played by "Rodrigo Pintos" who creates conflict between the two friends.

We are going to try create a narrative in our trailer with narration over the top, thus conforming to a typical coming of age trailer, making it more personal to the audience, and a direct approach to explaining the plot.

It will start with a birds eye view point of the protagonist asleep in bed which follows with a narrative from the protagonist. We have filmed several shots of the protagonist and love interest together, in which we will use at the beginning as a dream sequence, regularly used in this type of genre, of the main character lusting over some guy. During the trailer we will see the character grow and go through several scenes in hope to win over the guy of her dreams.

Location Research for film

To capture a typical teen coming-of-age movie, having shots part take in school will help conform to this type of genre...

If we do go ahead with a couple shots of the school in order to conform to a teen movie, we will base some shots in either a classroom. or crowded area.

Seeing as this is just a film trailer, and we have a very low budget, we will use public places such as fields and train stations, along with shots coming from the actors' homes.

The locations so far-

Here we are shown photographs Eleanor has taken of the locations we have filmed.
- West Wittering Beach
- Ashtead Common

These are some locations we have some footage of already
 1. Scenic shots of Brazil
2. Portsmouth
3. London
4. Brighton

Trailers usually commit to several scenic locations, thus, the location is not as important... the more locations better, however it is important to carry through a main location, which will most likely be an indoor situation.

The shots taken at the beach will be used for the dream sequence at the start of the trailer.
This will progress later into the trailer with scenic shots of other areas such as Brighton Beach, and Ashtead Common.

The shots taken in Ashtead Common so far will focus on myself, the protagonist, and my independence while growing up, whereas shots like the one to the left here is more for the cinematography.

So far, we have filmed the protagonist cycling through a field, having a deep conversation with her bestfriend, and several scenic shots. The common is a successful place to film if we want to inhabit that of an indie coming-of-age teen movie as nature is always key to being "indie".
