Costume prep behind the scenes

Our costume for the door scene between Lola and Riki

We wanted to achieve an awkward mood in this scene by making Lola our protagonist look unpolished and funny. We decided to put pink rollers in my hair and I put on my pink robe which connotes that she has come out of a shower and is naked under the Robe.The rollers also suggest that Lola is preparing her look and does not always look good. In this picture it seems that I am naked under my robe but actually I wasn't I was not wearing shirt other than the robe but I was wearing trousers and socks however when we shot this scene we shot in a close medium shot that only showed from waist upwards so that the audience can't see my bottom half.Therefore implying that I am naked under the robe.This costume was very easy to create as it is belongings most girls will have in their home. The robe and rollers were mine so I did not have to buy any extra equipment. This scene links back with the first scene of Lola waking up and stepping out of bed where we see her wearing only one sock. This combination of shots represent Lola as imperfect which is what we want to show her as so that the audience can sympathize with her and find humour out of her.
