Evaluating shots in Marmalady

In our A2 production which is our Marmalady film trailer we wanted to achieve specific shots that would successfully show off our skills and improve the quality of our trailer we tried to achieve a Match action shot among the argument scene of Lola and Sam. To achieve this we took various shots of Eleanor playing as Sam following Lola and touching her shoulder to make her turn around to face her. We took both long shots, medium shots and close up shots. We combined the beginning of a long shot and the ending of a close up medium creating the illusion that it is all happening in one shot. We did this by cutting the first long shot when Eleanor reaches out just before she touches Lola's shoulder. Then the medium shot begins with Eleanor(Sam) touching Lola's shoulder and Lola turning around. This made the transition of both shots smoother and more professional. We were restricted in our AS production because of our choice to film the opening two minutes as if it were home made footage as this meant we had to film the majority of the production by hand and enabled us to include a variety of shots.
